Robert Verschueren Hanging Flow
My installations are created for both inside as well, as outside spaces.
They all reflect the tight link between life and death. Man considers himself more and more being outside of the natural world. His behavior towards nature is very often contradictory. Man often destroys nature while at the same time he admires it.
The installation Hanging Flow
makes a direct link with the Ancient Song Mao Path and evokes for me the continuing flow of life.
Situated at the Western Gate the hanging branches seem to take the direction of the river. Inside every plant there is a flow of life directly related to water. The red strings that have been used to hang the branches are reminiscent of the rain.
Shouldn't the clouds also be considered as a kind of hanging flow?
